Recuerdo perfectamente cuando mi mamá me preparaba para ir a la escuela y todo el tiempo odiaba vestir correctamente el uniforme; yo quería ir vestida como mi hermano mayor de pantalón; me parecía que tenía más onda; bueno no sé si realmente pensaba que tenía onda mi hermano; o más bien me había llamado la atención la portada de un disco de las spice girls que tenía en su cuarto, yo quería lucir como sporty spice…

I remember perfectly when my mother prepared me to go to school and all the time I hated to wear the uniform correctly; I wanted to be dressed as my older brother in pants; I think it was more cool; well I don't know if I really thought my brother was cool; or rather the cover of a record of the spice girls that I had in his room had caught my attention, I wanted to look like sporty spice ...

Un viernes casual, así lo nombraba yo porque era un día que no debería de vestir uniforme; convencí a mi mamá que me vistiera como sporty spice, cabe mencionar que en el colegio no estaba permitido ir sin el uniforme, pero mi mama me había accedido a la petición y me compro unos increíbles pantalones con un leotardo color negro que los adoraba junto con una gargantilla de plástico de colores neon; yo me sentía en la onda, recuerdo esa sensación de empoderamiento, que me hacía sentir tan bien.

A casual Friday, that's what I named it because it was a day I shouldn't wear a uniform; I convinced my mother to dress me as a sporty spice, it should be mentioned that at school I was not allowed to go without the uniform, but my mother had agreed to the request and bought me some amazing pants with a black leotard that I adored them along with a neon colored plastic choker; I felt on the wave, I remember that feeling of empowerment, which made me feel so good.

Evidentemente en la escuela dieron un grito al cielo, una porque no llevaba el uniforme y otra porque como una niña de 8 años vestía color negro y ¡pantalón! , decían en el colegio que las niñas únicamente debían utilizar falda o vestido. ¡Que pasaba! estábamos en plenos 90´s y aun los adultos seguían pensando eso, en el colegio no tuvieron opción en dejarme entrar porque ese día me llevaba papá y no podía regresarme con él ya que iba directamente al trabajo.

Evidently at school they gave a shout to heaven, one because he was not wearing the uniform and another because as an 8-year-old girl he wore black and pants! , they said at school that girls should only wear a skirt or dress. What was going on we were in full 90´s and even the adults were still thinking that!, at school you had the option of letting me in because that day I was taking dad and I could not return with him since I was going directly to work.

Al siguiente viernes me soprprendi por completo, ya que otras niñas llevaban pantalon, y entonces mi momento de rebeldia se convirto en inspiración para otras niñas. Asi que no podia dejar de compartirte mi inpiración para que te apoderes del estilo TomBoy, lucelo con gran estilo en las calles.
